Amid the ongoing threat of a potential Iranian attack, Chief Superintendent Yigal Ben Lulu, the commander of the Tiberias police station, emphasizes the importance of vigilance for visitors to the area during the Passover holiday. While there are currently no crowd restrictions in place for the Tiberias area and the shores of the Sea of Galilee according to the Home Front Command, Ben Lulu acknowledges the significant challenge that an aircraft or missile infiltration would pose.
In the event of an attack, Ben Lulu instructs people to take cover by lying on the ground and covering their heads with their hands. This caution comes in the wake of Iranian threats following an airstrike on an Iranian consulate building in Damascus on April 1, resulting in casualties among Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders.
To ensure safety, parents are advised to remind their children of essential precautions, including wearing a life belt, staying close to the shore, and avoiding excessive alcohol consumption.
With tens of thousands of visitors expected in the area during Passover, Ben Lulu highlights the ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza, now in its seventh month, adding an additional layer of complexity to security considerations.
